What you need to know about louvre vents?
Ventilation Louvres often go unnoticed; however, they serve a crucial purpose in commercial and residential projects in managing airflow and ventilation. When working on your next project, understanding Louvres functionality and adaptability will help you determine whether to use, and which Louvre to use for your project.
What are Louvre Vents?
Louvre vents are an Aluminium slatted vent designed to allow controlled ventilation into an area, balances with water ingress as well as aesthetics.
There are various configurations available. Louvres can be specified from low airflow and visual screening, up to High flow which allows more air intake (suitable for machinery rooms for example) and even secure options for easily accessible areas. Additionally, Brookvent also manufacture door louvres and bespoke options.
How are they made?
Here at Brookvent we manufacture our Louvres in our Belfast factory for customers throughout Northern and Southern Ireland, and the rest of GB.
Each Brookvent louvres is hand manufactured in our Belfast factory. They are made from extruded aluminium EN AW-6060 T66 (AlMgSi0.5 F22) which offers corrosion resistance and demanding weatherability. Additionally, this aluminium has an excellent surface quality making it ideal for decorative applications and surface treatments. This means that the painted finish is clean and professional, so looks good and the louvre will last.
Louvers wider than 700 mm are provided with a reinforcement profile carrying additional blade supports to strengthen the wide louver.
Being totally recyclable, one of the most sustainable materials.
Painted Finishes.
In order for the Louvre to blend into the building, we offer Polyester powder coating (PPC) to most RAL Colours, Anodising and Mill finish.
What are the benefits of Brookvent Louvres?
A louvre vent helps you control airflow in your commercial space, can help reduce energy costs and improve indoor air quality. They offer protection against rain, vermin, burglars and noise. They are used to bring fresh air into the home or extract polluted and humid air from the home. To name just a few examples, ventilation louvres are used to allow fresh air to enter basements, to extract the polluted and humid air captured by kitchen extractor hoods or generated by tumble dryers, and much more.
