We are delighted to announce that Brookvent has been shortlisted in two categories at the upcoming H&V News Awards. The aircycle 1.3 has been shortlisted in the Domestic Ventilation Product of the Year category, and our Timestrip filter change reminder initiative will be competing in the HVAC Initiative of the Year category. Below we explain in more detail why we were nominated in these categories.
Domestic Ventilation Product of the Year
The Product
The aircycle 1.3 range is a versatile, high performance MVHR system designed to suit small to medium sized apartments and dwellings.
The range operates by efficiently recovering heat from the air extracted from wet rooms (bathroom, kitchen etc.) that would normally be expelled to the atmosphere. This heat is then transferred to the fresh air being drawn into the system, which is then filtered and distributed throughout the habitable rooms (living room, bedroom etc.).
What makes it Stand Out
Everything about the aircycle 1.3 range is engineered with end users in mind. Its impressive acoustic performance allows it to seamlessly work in the background of a home and it actively reduces the cost of heating.
Features such as its versatility without compromising on performance and accessibility to key components separate it from other products in the market. The addition of these features is not something which was stumbled upon by chance, they are a direct response to the needs of the market.

Identifying the Problem
As a manufacturer who installs award winning Heat Recovery Ventilation systems (HRV, MVHR), we have access to see what the issues are in the market, giving us an opportunity to resolve them.
One re-occurring theme we noticed is that many issues in the market are caused by poor maintenance, namely filters not being replaced. To educate and remind end users on the importance of changing their filters, we put several steps in place.
Finding a Solution
The first step was making filters accessible to buy through our website, the second was utilising an automated email reminder service and the third was the introduction of Timestrip reminders with all filter kits.
The Timestrip provide a visual 12-month countdown, so users can easily see how long their filters have been in use. Each Timestrip comes with an instruction card and clearly indicates when filters should be checked. End users can then easily order replacements directly from our website.
Essentially, the Timestrip offers a simple solution to a long-term problem.
It’s a huge honour to be considered for two prestigious awards and we can’t wait for the ceremony on the 25th April!
