Heat recovery ventilation is also known as mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) or energy recovery ventilation. It is an evolved ventilation system with a heat recovery unit, which recovers energy between two air sources – one incoming and one outgoing – allowing fresh air to be cooled or heated depending on the demands of the building.
