The Brookvent Aircycle 1.3 is a high-performance Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system designed to provide continuous, balanced ventilation for small to medium-sized residential properties, including apartments, houses and self-build developments.
The system continuously extracts stale, moisture-laden air from areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms, while simultaneously supplying filtered, fresh air to living spaces and bedrooms. Before the extracted air is discharged outside, its heat energy is recovered through the unit’s heat exchanger and transferred to the incoming fresh air. This helps reduce heat loss through ventilation while maintaining a consistent supply of fresh, filtered air throughout the property.
Designed for Flexible Installation
The Aircycle 1.3 has been developed with the practical requirements of modern residential construction in mind. Its flexible installation options allow the unit to be wall, floor or ceiling mounted, providing greater freedom when planning plant areas and accommodating space constraints within apartments, houses and refurbishment projects.
This flexibility makes the Aircycle 1.3 suitable for a range of applications, from individual self-build homes through to contractor-led residential developments and architect-designed projects.
Energy-Efficient Ventilation
With a Specific Fan Power (SFP) of down to 0.51 W/l/s and heat recovery efficiency of up to 92%, the Aircycle 1.3 is designed to minimise the energy required to provide continuous mechanical ventilation.
By recovering heat that would otherwise be lost through the ventilation system, the unit can help reduce ventilation-related heat loss and contribute to lower space-heating demand. Combined with continuous air exchange and filtration of incoming air, the system supports a comfortable and energy-efficient indoor environment.
Summer Bypass
The Aircycle 1.3 has an automatic summer bypass to help keep your home comfortable during warmer weather.
When the outside temperature rises above 17°C and the indoor extracted air temperature rises above 21°C, the bypass automatically opens. This allows fresh air to bypass the heat recovery core, helping to bring cooler outdoor air into the home without recovering heat from the outgoing air.
The bypass will automatically close when either the outside temperature falls below 17°C or the indoor temperature falls below 21°C.
Frost Protection
The Aircycle 1.3 has an automatic frost protection function to help protect the heat recovery core during cold weather.
When the outside temperature drops below the factory-set 5°C, the supply fan automatically switches off for 5 minutes every hour. This allows warmer air from inside the home to pass through the heat recovery core without cold fresh air entering at the same time.
This helps raise the temperature inside the unit and prevents ice from forming within the heat recovery core, helping to protect the system and maintain reliable operation during colder conditions.
Frost protection operates automatically, so no manual adjustment is required.
